I’m 25 and have recently started to concentrate on my diet and make some changes. Basically I was suffering with mild depression and read that eating a lot of omega-3 rich foods can combat it. So I now regularly eat nuts, salmon and mackerel, and have started drinking a litre of water a day as well as green tea, and I’ve vastly cut down my alcohol intake and am completely shocked by the results. After as little as two weeks I feel more positive and happy, have more energy, and my skin glows. So now I’m a little obsessed with the healing power of food and now I want to try a detox as this is meant to be super healthy for you.

I don’t know how it works though exactly. Do you just eat raw vegetables for a day (or week?) and nothing else? Or do you just drink water for 1 day? I’m eager to get started so if anyone could tell me how to do it and what it does for you i’ll be happy :-)
thanks so much. Im always looking for ways to make my diet even better and will take all advice on board!

As always, the Doc (above) is spot on – detox diets are pointless and if anything, do more damage to the body then good.

Its great to hear how well you’re doing with your diet – these are really good, positive changes to make.

To further improve what you’re already doing, try to increase the amount of fruits and vegetables you’re eating, as well as lean meats and low-fat dairy. Avoid all processed foods (especially sugars!), and stick to the simple rule: The less ingredients it has, the better it is! (I.e. if you are going to roast potatoes the only ingredients are potatoes, olive oil and maybe flour. Now look at the shop packets and you’ll see a long list of chemicals and additives).

Try and increase the amount of water you’re drinking to around 0.66 fluid ounces per 1lb of body weight (across the day) – it may seem a lot, but its the best way to keep your body topped up – and as the doc above has said, the liver is the best detox system you have, and it can’t do its job properly unless its properly hydrated.

Best of luck!

When I hit 193 pounds I knew I had to do something I just didn’t know what. I had no energy to do anything and I’m a stay at home mom with two children. I almost gave up until I tried royal energy green tea from bee royal products. I started drinking it and had more energy than I knew what to do with. I lost 6 pounds in one week and was ecstatic! I called them and went from the energy tea to the bee pollen. This stuff is a completely natural food which is really got me goin. I love to do natural stuff. I have been on the bee pollen for two months and in a total of two weeks I lost 12 pounds. I have the energy to exercise and my house has never been cleaner. My husband has a very demanding job in the summer and he is a total believer too. He loves it because it helps your body heal faster and it’s excellent for cholesterol. I have my mom, brother, grandma and even my real estate lady on it. I feel like I have to tell everyone. I’m now on the royal jelly and I feel fantastic! The greatest thing is I know that these items can’t hurt me like other fat burning products that ruin your heart and other organs. Apparently this stuff was even used by the Ancient Egyptians. You can find them on the web at beeroyalproducts. I hope they can help you like they did me!

I asked this in the afternoon but didn’t get as much as answers as my mind would like.

I ate healthy as can be but then I hit 30 weeks and my diet has been cruddy. Not horrible but for instance, today was -cereal, pistachios, pizza, milk, water, and chinese food….
Ive been eating more junk and soda/tea than ever.

Anyone else’s diet just go haywire in late pregnancy? Any suggestions on how to get it back to a somewhat decent state? lol

lol i kinda know what you mean…i’ve been eating really well since about a few weeks ago.. i think its largely due to being tired and not wanting to fork out the energy to make up something healthy, i have been eating A lot of heavier foods and less veg than normal, i wouldn’t worry about it too much, just try and eat a bit of everything everyday, especially fresh fruits and veg

Hi, a practitioner of Chinese Medicine gave me a 1.5 liter bottle of tea oil. Is this the same as tea tree oil? I did ask him this question and it seemed he didn’t have a clue on what tea tree oil is (this happened in china and he is a university professor in TCM (Trad Chi Med) so i have no reason to doubt his expertise. He says this (what he gave me) can be used for massage and weight loss, though beyond this, I would like to know more about the product. Since it’s pure, it does smell like it came from a plant. I seem to have read about some antifungal properties though I don’t want to experiment. Can someone shed some light on this? Tx
Tx for your answer. Gee, if I didn’t know of that distinction, I could inadvertently use it for a massage and end up smelling like a freshly tossed salad!

I am sure that tea oil and tea tree oil are different. Tea tree oil is an antibacterial, anti fungal and antiviral, nothing to do with weight loss. also Chinese and tea medicine seem to go together since tea is a staple in their diets. tea tree oil comes from Australia.
